Ordinances

State law and the Piedmont City Charter require certain actions of the Council be taken by ordinance. The Council is required to pass ordinances two times at separate meetings. Ordinances can amend the Piedmont City Code or be stand alone documents. Any change to the City Code requires an ordinance. The Piedmont City Charter and state law require other actions to be carried out by ordinance.

Approved Ordinances

Below are recent ordinances which have been approved by the Piedmont City Council for final passage. This list will be updated as additional ordinances are passed. The City Clerk's Office is able to assist in the location of any ordinances not on this page.

First Reading Ordinances

The ordinances below have taken the first step towards final approval by the Council, but are not finally approved. They have received their first reading, but not their second. These ordinances have no force unless and until approved again by the Council at an open, public meeting.
