Sustainable Park Management Plan
This project will create a roadmap for how we can sustainably manage Piedmont's parks so they remain vibrant, well-cared-for community assets long into the future.
The plan will provide management guidelines and strategies to address key issues, opportunities, and community priorities - ensuring healthy parks that serve Piedmont's current and future residents.

Healthy parks, today and tomorrow
This project is about stewardship - a commitment to keeping Piedmont's parks thriving and well-loved for years to come.
This project will:
- Look at how we currently care for our parks and open spaces
- Identify ways we can better align our maintenance with sustainable best practices
- Create guidelines that provide a framework for future decision making
- Capture what the community values most about our parks
- Provide practical strategies to care for and protect what the community values most
This project will not:
- Design or build new parks or facilities
- Make decisions about removing activities or amenities
- Replace future planning efforts for facilities, programming, or capital projects
Phases and Timeline
Phase 1: Review & Assessment
- When: Fall 2025
- What happens: Identify key issues, opportunities, and community priorities through research, park assessment, and community engagement.
Phase 2: Guidelines & Strategies
- When: Winter 2025/2026
- What happens: Develop draft management guidelines and strategies that respond to community priorities.
Phase 3: Final Plan
- When: Spring/Summer 2026
- What happens: Refine strategies and develop final management plan.
