Every home should have smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. You should:
- Test them every month
- Change the batteries every 6 months

If the alarm is sounding continuously, exit immediately and call 9-1-1.
If it is chirping once every 30 seconds or so, it probably has a low or dead battery.
